Canalside Farm Cafe, Great Haywood
Mill Lane, Great Haywood, Stafford ST18 0RQ
14 April 2017
SCONES
One medium sized, fruit scone, which was probably not home baked (it came out of a packet), but was fresh and enjoyable nonetheless.
CREAM
A regular carton of good old Rodda’s clotted cream which was an ample amount for the two scone halves. We were also supplied with two Lakeland Dairies salted Pure Irish butter sachets which we did not use.
JAM
The jam was supplied in the form of 28g jars of Wilkin & Sons Tiptree. Of the five cream teas we ordered, four randomly received strawberry and one raspberry.
TEA
Not a huge choice of teas on offer, but the loose-leaf Earl Grey, served in a ForLife Stump teapot, provided and good beverage.
AMBIENCE & SERVICE
Canalside Cafe is an attractive, modern cafe in a great location. Service is canteen-style rather than waitered, but the counter staff were very friendly and the table and crockery clean. We visited on a bright Spring day, but we could imagine it would be a lovely spot to dine outside in the Summer by the side of the canal.
