SCONES
The cream tea at the Bridge Tea Rooms comes with a choice of plain or sultana scones so we selected one of each. Clearly freshly baked, they had a light crunch on the outside and a soft inner. Lovely.
CREAM
The organic Jersey cow golden clotted cream was served in a white ramekin dish and was a good quantity to top the four open scone halves.
JAM
The strawberry jam (apparently hand-made on a Somerset farm) was also served in a ramekin dish. However, as there was insufficient for the size of the scones, we asked for more which was supplied (free of charge) without a problem.
TEA
The Bridge Tea Rooms boasts a wonderful selection of loose leaf teas and the Lapsang Souchong we chose was excellent.
AMBIENCE & SERVICE
An extremely popular tearoom among both tourists and locals, The Bridge Tea Rooms, with its olde-worlde charm, can get quite busy and cramped. We were lucky to find a free table upstairs by the fire. Despite forgetting requests due to the business, the staff were all friendly and the china was clean.
