Syke Farm Tearoom

Syke Farm, Buttermere, Cockermouth CA13 9XA

6 September 2018

SCONES
The large fruit scone served at Syke Farm Tearoom was wonderful. Slightly short and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside – clearly freshly baked.

CREAM
The delicious clotted cream, supplied in a glass ramekin dish, was a good quantity to top the open scone halves.

JAM
Due to the large size of the scone, the 28g Tiptree Wilkin & Sons strawberry preserve only provided a minimal covering.

TEA
Not a huge choice of teas, but the loose leaf Earl Grey was very good.

AMBIENCE & SERVICE
Following a walk around the idyllic Buttermere lake, a cream tea at Syke Farm Tearoom provided the perfect finale. The homemade cakes and ice creams looked amazing and we bought a couple of fabulous pies to take away. Seating is available inside but we chose to sit outside at the picnic tables in the sunshine. The staff were all very friendly and the crockery clean.

SCORE: 8.5/10 ~ Highly Recommended
