SCONES
The medium-sized scones (a choice of fruit or plain) came individually cellophane wrapped, which no doubt helped to keep them fresh for longer, but also accentuated the fact they they were not freshly baked. They were soft, but rather dry.

CREAM
A small dish of clotted cream which would have been sufficient for one scone, but not really for two.

JAM
A small jar of basic quality (unbranded) strawberry jam. Again, this quantity would be good for one scone of this size, but became little more than a thin smear on our four open scone halves.

TEA
Not a great choice of teas and even though it was only 11am, they only had one Early Grey bag left.

AMBIENCE & SERVICE

The cream tea at Buckler’s Hard was especially disappointing because we really liked the Tea Room and the wonderful maritime visitor attraction with its marvellous historic village so we didn’t want to be critical. Perhaps we should have had a coffee and cake and not done a review.

Score: 5/10
